ohn Bruce Nabimanya is a seasoned Agricultural and Livelihoods Specialist with over 13 years of experience in program design, implementation, and management across Uganda and East Africa. He has worked extensively in both private and non-profit sectors, supporting initiatives funded by USAID, MasterCard Foundation, UN agencies, African Development Bank, and the World Bank. He currently serves as a CSA (Climate Smart Agriculture) Expert Consultant with Agro-Preneur Initiative Ltd and Finnish Overseas Consultants, where he leads capacity-building and technical advisory activities to improve household incomes, food security, and climate resilience through sustainable natural resource management and agricultural enterprise development. Over the years, John has built capacity for over 15,000 farmers and farmer groups, helping communities adopt improved agricultural practices, strengthen supply chains, and enhance value addition in key agricultural value chains. John has previously held senior roles, including Program Manager for the Resilient Vanilla/Coffee Agroforestry Farming Systems Project at Catholic Relief Services, and Regional Field Supervisor for the USAID Production for Improved Nutrition Project. He has designed training manuals, guided youth agribusiness initiatives, facilitated emergency response projects, and advised on climate-smart and gender-responsive agricultural interventions. His work has helped private sector partners, farmer cooperatives, and local governments improve production, market access, and livelihoods across multiple regions of Uganda. He holds a Master of Sustainable Agriculture and Rural Development from Ndejje University, a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from Uganda Martyrs University, and additional professional certifications, including Project Leadership from Cornell University. John is fluent in English and Runyakitara, with working knowledge of Luganda, Luo, and Kiswahili. He is known for his strategic leadership, technical expertise in agricultural development, and a strong commitment to improving rural livelihoods, food security, and economic empowerment for women and youth.
