Dr. Tushabe Busingye Florence is an accomplished academic, researcher, and technology innovator with over two decades of experience in computer science, digital innovation, and higher education leadership. She holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Groningen (Netherlands) and has served in several senior academic roles, including Vice Chancellor of Kampala International University in Tanzania and currently as an Associate Professor at Soroti University. Dr. Tushabe has led numerous groundbreaking research projects in health informatics, AI-driven applications, and language technology, many of which have received national and international recognition and funding from institutions such as USAID, Google, the African Development Bank, and the Government of Uganda. She is a fellow of the International Women’s Forum and an alumna of Harvard and INSEAD executive leadership programs. A prolific researcher and innovator, she has published extensively in computer vision, digital forensics, and ICT for development, and supervised multiple PhD and Master's students. Beyond academia, she is active in community development, serving on boards of organizations focused on youth, women’s health, and cancer prevention, and is the founder of FreeHearts Uganda, a nonprofit supporting distressed women and children.
